Jimmy Benson Passes Away

MACON, GA(Press Release) - Singing News has learned that long-time Southern Gospel promoter Jimmy Benson of Macon, Ga., passed away yesterday. He was 72 years old. Preliminary indications suggest he suffered a massive heart attack.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary. The Reverends Steve Johnson and E. Y. Stokes will officiate. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312 or to the American Heart Association, 3312 Northside Drive, 140-A, Macon, GA 31210. Please remember the Benson family in your prayers.
