ASHEBORO, NC(Press Release) - Jim Bullins, father of Anchormen owner, Tim Bullins, passed away Wednesday Jan. 28 at his home. Jim was a great contributor to his community and the kids they called "Jim's Kids." Please remember Tim and the Bullins Family in your prayers.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Sunset Avenue Church of God, with the Rev. John Marlow and special friend, Otis Marlow, officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Road Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native of Stokes County, N.C., Mr. Bullins was born July 22, 1940, the son of the late James and Alverda Lou Bullins. He was an over the road truck driver for over 30 years having driven for Morrow's Transfer. In the early 80's, Jim founded Jim's Kids, an organization helping to provide financial assistance and much needed joy to children and adults with disabilities. Jim's Kids held Christmas parties in December and July of each year and surprised many of the Kid's with necessary handicap devices that the family could not afford financially. Jim's Kids had become very well known in the trucking community across the country with interviews appearing in numerous trucker magazines as well as People Magazine, NBC Nightly News and Reader's Digest. Jim received the 1993 Governor's Award, 1996 Trucker's Jamboree Award, 1997 RPM Magazine Extra Mile Award and 2000 Asheboro Rotary Club Good Samaritan Award.

The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, and other times at the home.
