James D. Vaughan Quartet Festival This Weekend
Many activies have been going on all week long and leading up to the marking of the 100th Anniversary of Southern Gospel Music in the birthplace, Lawrenceburg, TN. The annual and only all quartet festival will be this weekend, July 30 and July 31, at the Historic Crockett Theater and a special appearance by a Southern Gospel legend has just been added.

Friday Night, July 30 at 7:00p.m., the birthplace of Southern Gospel music will be filled with quartet singing by The INSPRIATIONS, Quartet of the year, TRIUMPHANT QUARTET, and back by popular demand, Ed O'Neal and the DIXIE MELODY BOYS. A Saturday Matinee will be at 1:00p.m. with Gerald Williams & the MELODY BOYS QUARTET and the DIPLOMATS. BEN SPEER, of the Speer Family, has just been added to the Matinee concert and will be making a special appearance.

After the Matinee, there will be a nice boxed lunch on the square with southern fried chicken and more! The DOVE BROTHERS, FLORIDA BOYS, and Jimmy Blackwood & the BLACKWOOD BROTHERS QUARETET will take the stage at the 6:00p.m. concert on Saturday, July 31. Charile Waller, executive director of Southern Gospel Music Association, is producing a special presentation celebrating the 100th anniversary. The presentation will stroll down memory lane as each quartet will come to the two microphones and sing old Vaughan songs. After a short intermission, each group will return to fill a regular set. Host Quartet and Lawrenceburg's own, the Kellys, will appear both nights.
