Jerry Utley
The Voice from Kentucky
Jerry was born and raised in Louisville Kentucky and begin his music career when his mother bought him his first guitar at age 5. Raised in a musical family where homecomings brought guitars and banjos, Jerry loved to sing…no one knew the beautiful voice waiting to be discovered in that little fellow…
By the time he was 17 Jerry was performing for governors and mayors, church and patriotic events and USO tours. He traveled cross the country with his versatile one-man show performing his own renditions of Sinatra, Elvis, Roy Orbison, Glen Campbell and John Denver and songs from groups like the Eagles and the Righteous Brothers.
A songwriter since age 15, Jerry’s inspirational music has recently shown up in Nashville with many of his own songs charting on Inspirational Country. His most recent songs charting are Singer on the Stage, Day of Eternity and Wings of Peace. All three are very unique and different songs showing Jerry’s versatility in his style and voice.
Jerry loves to sing as he knows he has a lovely gift that moves the listeners. So, recently in midlife, he has gone back to school to rekindle his 41/2 octave range by taking opera lessons at the University of Louisville’s School of Music, now just 3 notes under the famed Pavorotti!
Jerry’s voice has been described as ‘deep velvet’ and he has earned the name ‘the man with the voice’ in Nashville. And, no wonder! Working in Nashville just since 2004, every single song of Jerry’s has charted in the top 20s with 4 of those songs in the top 10.
When you listen to Jerry’s songs, you will know why. His Wings of Peace is on a commemorative disc for Dottie Rambo and is also playing across the ocean on Christian radio for our troops in Iraq.
Prepare to be delighted and moved with the music of Jerry Utley!
