In
a saucepan, combine sugar and milk. Simmer until mixture reaches softball
stage on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract and
peanut butter. Beat with spoon until mixed, then pour into buttered
9-inch square pan. Let cool, then cut into desired size.
