4 cups self-rising flour
2 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Cream sugar, butter, and eggs together. Add vanilla. Alternate buttermilk & flour. Mix until a dough-like consistency is reached. Bake in 3 different 9" cake pans at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. To assemble stack cake, use your favorite apple butter or jam between each layer. If desired, top with whipped cream!
